Chimney Seal in TS System
This flashing is prepared in a workshop, following fulfilment of its execution conditions.
It consists of three elements (listed in order of installation):
- universal front with folded soft leaden collar and sides
- ready-made back of a chimney with sides folded in a semicircle
- set of finishing and sealing strips with the width of 7 cm
The sides feature single-element waterproofing fold with the height of 3 cm and a backing with the height of 2 cm, each separated from each other and a chimney to the distance of 8 cm. The back of a chimney is put on the front of a chimney, with a minimum lap of 15 cm. Finishing strips (incised or sealed) are fixed from the front to the back of a chimney.
Conditions for execution of standard TS system flashing:
- roof inclination angle is known
- given chimney width is 120 cm (preparation of a single-element front/back of a chimney)
- given length of a chimney after the slope (no limits)
The benefits of employing the system:
- durability of flashing similar to the life of the material used
- tightness of the flashing equalling its durability
- time savings (installation of a ready-made chimney flashing takes 15–45 minutes)
- possibility of perfect joining of a front apron with any type of roofing
- relatively low cost of flashing execution
- unmatched aesthetics and quality of execution
Cornice and Firewall Flashings
Technical description of the system:
- aluminium brackets, with thickness of 3 mm, and with length of 10–20 cm, fixed directly to the surface of a cornice or a firewall, in pairs, every 60 cm at minimum
- aluminium T-bars, with thickness of 3 mm, resting on a bracket and serving as a support for OSBs, screwed permanently after levelling
- OSB, with thickness of 18–22 mm, and the width of cornice for fixing to T-bars
- steel galvanised sheet metal retainers, with thickness of 0.7 mm, fixed at the edges of OSBs
- distance mat, fixed to entire surface of an OSB, DORKEN Delta Trela ST
- re-profiled noble metal sheet, fixed to a board with the use of permanent arresters, e.g. manufactured by RHEINZINK
- self-adhesive expanding seal in each double seam joining sheets
The benefits of employing the system:
- elimination of possible curvature of poured cornices
- possibility of executing precise sloping in the direction of a roof
- elimination of firewall or cornice freezing owing to thermal insulation of spaces between brackets
- increased durability of tinsmith’s flashing to strong wind gusts
- maximum tightness of the installed flashings
- durability of the entire system, similar to the durability of the used material
- unmatched precision and aesthetics of execution
Semicircular Attic Window Flashings
Technical description of the system:
- OSB sheathing or boarding of an entire attic window/its semicircular roof, together with 30–80 cm back ‘incision’ for roofing
- fixing of roofing membrane with distance mat on an entire boarding area, e.g. DORKEN Delta Trella
- side bowl troughs of an attic window with soldered catch strip
- back bowl troughs of an attic window, soldered and introduced under the proper roofing (roofing tiles, slates)
- roll sheet profiling on MINIPROOF
- upsetting/drawing of seaming sheet in order to obtain the right arc curvature
- fixing of re-profiled arc sheets with the use of permanent and movable arresters in the system of double standing seam
- sealing of each seam with a self-adhesive expanding seal
- execution of facade part of an attic window — following technological rules and good roofer’s practice
The benefits of employing the system:
- guaranteed tightness of the very attic window roofing and its joint with the proper roof as an outcome of the employed technology
- possibility of adaptation to development conditions
- unmatched aesthetics and quality of execution
- attic window execution contrasts with other roofing elements
- source of diversity of form — providing for an effect of uniqueness of the entire building
- perfect way to create additional living space at the attic, while retaining individual roof concept and attic window shape
Arc Flashing of Balconies
Technical description of the system:
- execution of a flashing according to a template, in workshop environment
- surface grounding of a balcony/terrace with ENKE UN 1263 preparation
- application of glue for joining sheets with concrete, e.g. RHEINZINK ENKOLIT, onto 106% of area appropriated for tinsmith’s flashing; application thickness of 4–8 mm, depending on surface curvature
- application of tinsmith’s flashing and thorough pressing of glue beyond edges — technological restrictions pertaining to contact area between titanium-zinc sheets and concrete/lime plaster
- anchoring tinsmith’s flashing with SM studs with stainless screw, every 90 cm at minimum
- subsequent works on a terrace according to a selected hydro-insulation technology
The benefits of employing the system:
- tightness of plankings stemming from lack of joints or due to their soldering
- strict adherence to installation and hydro-insulation technology provides for proper functionality of planking
- durability of planking equals the durability of sheet metal used in construction
- visual uniqueness of flashings due to lack of joints or owing to their imperceptibility
- notice of well-invested financial resources
- uncommon aesthetics and quality of execution
Standard Tinsmith’s Flashings
We execute flashings of coated sheets (steel and aluminium) and noble sheets (titanium-zinc and copper), up to 3 linear metres in one section.
Example:
- gutter trims
- bowl gutters
- verge trims
- under-rafter flashing
- rafter flashings
- wind braces
- wall flashings
- windowsills and finishing profiles
Benefits of ordered flashings:
- precision and repeatability of dimensions of prepared samples
- no joints of flashings over sections of 3 linear metres (e.g. 2–3 linear metres of single-section windowsills!)
- contractor’s time savings
- money savings (the costs is charged for one cutting and bending operation, and not for a linear metre)
- the shortest waiting time for ready flashings (instantly — up to 6 hours)
- professionally secured against damages
- delivered on time and to a destination location
